Learning Objectives

Acquire a critical approach to economic science through knowledge of the evolution of economic thought in order to grasp the complexity of the interrelationships between economic systems, forms of production and social-political organizations.



Detailed Course Content

Profile of the economic and social problems has been caused by the processes of modernization, industrialization and globalization with particular attention to the following issues:

The construction of the classical theory, Adam Smith.

The developments of classical economics, Malthus, Sismondi, Ricardo.

The role of the state in advanced economies.

The marginalist revolution.

The economic theories of the 900; Keynes and subsequent developments.
