Learning Objectives

The course is aimed at the acquisition of the basic knowledge related to the theories and methodologies of children play: to develop awareness of the importance of the playful dimension in how children learn, even in multicultural contexts; the acquisition of the awareness that play represent a significant moment for children to develop interests and attitudes, individual and social, linguistic, and communicative competences; to developo skills related to the instructional design of workshops dedicated to recreational, exploratory, symbolic and expressive play.



Detailed Course Content

Models and play theories; from exploring to playing; types of play; game/play and toys; observation and play; elements of playful teaching; Children’s play and cultures; Differences in education and play; the meta-playful laboratory; cognitive flexibility practices through play; inclusive education and play; games/play according to the National Guidelines for the nursery school curriculum and the first cycle of education.
