Learning Objectives

To acknowledge the main philosophical issues related to the aesthetic experience; to develop a critical approach to the contemporary discussion on art and perception.



Detailed Course Content

The principles of the Western aesthetics. In particular, the course will focus on the issue of the Beautiful vs. Nature in Ingres’ artistic creation, and on kalliphobia as a result of the unresolved epistemological identity of contemporary aesthetics.
