Learning Objectives

The course aims to draw the basic lines of the development of literary history of Spanish civilization from its origins to the baroque era (with a special attention to the Golden Age Theatre), through the study of representative texts and manifestos; particular attention will also be paid to the analysis of socio-cultural and artistic phenomena



Detailed Course Content

The course is an introduction to Spanish civilization, culture and literature from the origins to 17th century. Students will know the aesthetic movements of this era and authors and works from different genres. Students will be provided with the linguistic, stylistic and critical tools suited to the analysis of anthological texts. Thanks to this course, they learn philological and linguistic research methodology and they are able to apply knowledge, make judgement, communicate.
