Learning Objectives

  The course aims to analyze the historical references, methods, theories and concepts, as wellas the current critical issues of developmental psychology, with particular attention to the study of cognitive development, emotional and social development and to the influence of sociocultural context on building identity of children and adolescents in situations of risk and regulatorydevelopment.

  The main concepts, methods and maintheories of developmental psychology, from classic to contemporary literature;

  physical, motor and perceptive development;

  cognitive and language development;

  emotional development and identity;

  the social and cultural contexts of development: family, school, peergroup, cultural belonging.
