Learning Objectives

The course, featured by a strong interdisciplinary approach, aims to provide students with knowledge and methodological skills addressed to identify the interactions between contemporary Italian Literature and visual languages and arts. The course is devoted to the following specific knowledge and skills:

- Contextualization of examples of interaction between literature and photography in the contemporary theoretical debate.

- Textual analyses and identification of specific semantic, stylistic, rhetorical features, as well as distinction of genres and forms in the interplay between literature and visual languages.

- Indentification of intertextual, interdisciplinary and intermedial networks concerning the specific literary languages of contemporary culture (by reading exemplary works of Dino Buzzati).

A. Paint novels (2 CFU)

The case study of Buzzati: from iconotexts to double talent.

B. Gaze of women: the picture of invisible woman (4 CFU)

Forms and genres in the interplay between literature and photography.
