PRINCIPI E FONDAMENTI DEL SERVIZIO SOCIALE

Traditional frontal teaching will be made more dynamic and interactive by the use of suitable strategies to encourage the involvement and active participation of students through examples taken from the teacher's professional experience, the stimulus for dialogue and critical reflection and the creative use of new technologies.

As didactic tools the use of the video projector, the connection to the internet and the viewing of films are foreseen. For the integrative teaching activities, of the laboratory type, two thematic in-depth courses are hypothesized with the participation of external experts in order to rethink the traditional methods of intervention of the Social Service in a critical and current key.

I MODULE

• The philosophical and anthropological roots of social service and the meanings attributed to the concepts of poverty and assistance from the Middle Ages up to the contemporary age;
• The influence exerted by Christianity and the ideologies of the twentieth century.
• Welfare policies in the light of the main legislative reforms and the political and social events of our country.
• The Tremezzo Convention as a founding event for the profession, for its repercussions on the level of professional culture.
• The symbolic figures and the "pioneers" of the profession
• The large post-war social service bodies and the new methods of intervention in favor of individuals (casework), groups (groupwork) and communities (community work).
• The development of the profession from the postwar period to the sixties.
• The crisis of 1968 and the evolution of social work from the seventies to today.
• The legislation establishing the profession and the relationship between ethics and law.
• The founding values ​​of social work. Human rights, “situated values” and “relational values

MODULE II:

• The principles and foundations of social work from an international perspective.
• Relationship between deontology and evaluation and the ethical dilemmas encountered in the course of professional practice, especially in the field of child protection.
• The system of responsibilities provided for by the current code of ethics: towards the user, the company, colleagues, the organization and the profession.
• Confidentiality and professional secrecy.
• The system of sanctions and the disciplinary procedure.
• Continuing education and cultural production as ethical instances.
• The emerging themes in the New Code of Ethics (e.g. ethical dilemmas, the use of digital technologies, environmental protection).
• Creative developments of the traditional methods of intervention of the Social Service, with particular reference to working with groups and promoting communities.
