LINGUA SPAGNOLA

The course proposes to enhance the lexical, grammar and functional skills previously acquired, and to strengthen the main morphosyntactic structures of Spanish language, through a contrastive and intercultural approach, given the multicultural contexts of peninsular Spain and Hispanic America.

During the course is expected the enhance of linguistic and meta-linguistic foundations inherent to the written and oral argumentative discourse analysis, with a special attention to several kinds of specialized texts. As far as the linguistic and pragmatic-cultural skills are concerned, students must acquire the competence of interact in any communicative context, even and especially linked to oral and written texts belonging to the literary field and technical-scientific sphere of Spain and Hispanic America. Students must be able to draw up a multilingual glossary, paying attention to the application of different terminology, starting from the editing and the translation of several texts, such as literal, scientific, medical, biologic, hi-tech, and law texts always from a compared and contrastive dimension between Italian and Spanish varieties.

The morpho-syntactic, lexical, pragmatic, functional, and socio-cultural contents will be ascribable to the C1 level (QCER). The oral and written comprehension skills, as well as of oral and written production will be specifically enhanced. We will pay attention also to the interaction and mediation, considered as integrated skills, as well as the listening of Spanish radio and TV program clips.

The course envisages in-class and dialogued classes, with the possibility of seminars. Classes will be completed with practical exercises based on textual analysis and on translation from Spanish into Italian referring to texts of several specialized languages.

If the teaching was given trough a blended learning or only at distance, some required modifications would be made compared with what formerly declared, in order to respect the program in the Syllabus.

The course will be basically structured in two parts. The first one will be of 36 hours and proposes to enhance the theoretical aspects, the linguistic and intercultural variations of Spanish countries and of the evolving processes, such as diacrony and synchrony, of the history of Spanish language (6 ECTS). The second module analyses the use of linguistic-specialized peninsular and Hispanic American Spanish, in connection with translation studies (3 ECTS).
