Learning Objectives

Rehabilitation
The aim of the course is to provide the appropriate tools to achieve specific professional skills in relation to:
• Know and Acquire the methods of analysis, counseling, observation and evaluation procedures and the related rehabilitation techniques useful for identifying the objectives, in order to create, implement and plan a rehabilitation project with appropriate intervention methodology, to the achievement of therapeutic goals in Aphasia, Dysarthria, Severe Acquired Brain Injuries (GCA) and traumatic brain injury. Knowing how to recognize the dysphagia problem, knowing how to use adequate evaluation protocols, providing the basis for counseling and specific rehabilitation treatment in dysphagia in relation to the various pathologies.
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
THE COURSE AIMS TO LET STUDENTS KNOW THE SPECIFIC TOPICS OF INTEREST IN REHABILITATION MEDICINE. THEREFORE WILL CONCERN THE DEEPENING OF THE MAIN TOPICS COVERED BY THE REGULATION, INCLUDING THE FRAMEWORK OF THE DIFFERENT AREAS OF REHABILITATION, REHABILITATION TEAM, REHABILITATION TECHNIQUES IN THE SPEECH THERAPY, FREQUENTLY ASKED PATHOLOGIES.

Course Structure

Rehabilitation
- Cognitive models of neuropsychological functions and ICF classification scale
- Global speech therapy management within the rehabilitation project of the aphasic patient, with particular attention to post stroke aphasia: guidelines, classification, assessment, counseling and speech therapy program based on the main rehabilitation approaches;
- Classification, evaluation scales, classification, evaluation, couselling and rehabilitation techniques in Dysarthria and Severe Acquired Brain Injuries: role and competence of the speech therapist
- Clinical evaluation, counseling, and treatment of dysphagia in acute, chronic and degenerative neurological patients, knowledge of nutritional supports and alternative nutrition
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus. DURING THE COURSE THE PRESENTATION OF RELATED SLIDES AND VIDEOS WILL BE USED FOR THE TREATMENT OF THE TOPICS SUBJECT TO STUDY. Learning assessment may also be carried out on line, should the conditions require it.

Rehabilitation
The teaching is mainly provided in lectures with slides and video projections. There will be exercises and guided activities in small groups in the classroom
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation and Rehabilitation Team. Rehabilitation legislation, ministerial guidelines for rehabilitation activities, rehabilitation plan, rehabilitation project and program, rehabilitation outcomes, rehabilitation codes, intensive rehabilitation, extensive rehabilitation, hospital-territory integration.

Language disorders, aphasia, Neglect, Bedside examination, Dysphagia, Dementia, Neuromuscular and demyelinating disorders, Severe acquired brain injury, Infantile cerebral palsy and speech therapy management. Evaluation and design of the main posture systems, speech therapy aids,
