Considering the importance of the method in empirical research, it concerns the most important epistemological differences between standard and non-standard approaches. It explores the different types of research design using a 'quantitative' or a 'qualitative' approach. The aim of the module is to outline the areas and the phases of the social research, quantitatively and qualitatively, highlighting the specific nature and the different levels of formalization and structuring of the design.
