Learning Objectives

KNOWLEDGE AND COMPREHENSION SKILLS: In addition to knowing the main poets in nineteenth- and twentieth-century Italian literature, students should acquire a theoretical awareness of the rise and development of modern European poetry.

JUDGEMENT: Students should approach the selected poems with critical maturity, also in the light of the most significant critical analyses and interpretations. At the same time, they should pick up formal peculiarities and contents, also in relation to the individual personalities of the authors and the historical and literary contexts they belong to.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Through constant input from the teacher, students will acquire, or improve, the necessary communication skills for a thorough presentation of their critical understanding of the selected poems.

LEARNING SKILLS: Students should develop autonomous and up-to-date methodological skills in the analysis of literary texts in a national, European and extra-European perspective.
