Learning Objectives

Knowledge and understanding
Extending and enhancing knowledge founded upon first cycle learning, students will demonstrate understanding about law, common-law, and the mechanics of the English language.
Applying knowledge and understanding
Students will be able to apply their knowledge, understanding, and problem solving abilities in an unfamiliar (i.e. multidisciplinary), yet law-related, context: explore longer and fairly complex texts in English; express themselves with a degree of fluency that makes interaction quite possible; use the language flexibly and effectively in the social, academic and professional contexts.
Making judgements
Students will have the ability to integrate knowledge and handle second-language complexity, to formulate judgement with information that is limited or incomplete, yet still ripe enough to be reflected upon relying on their linguistic and sociolinguistic awareness.
Communication
Students will be able to communicate their conclusions, and the knowledge and rationale underpinning these, clearly and unambiguously, showing metalinguistic awareness.
Lifelong learning skills
Students will possess the learning skills to allow them to continue to study and improve their legal-language skills in a manner that may be largely selfdirected and autonomous

Course Structure

Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus.

Learning assessment may also be carried out on line, should the conditions require it.
