Acquisition of the research method in the historical-urbanistic field, through the analysis of the problems that determine the settlement process.
The course includes a theoretical frontal part and a practical part focused on the conduct of a research agreed with the teacher.
It is particularly recommended to carry out research, an essential part for the examination; the meetings with the teacher are weekly during the semester of lessons.
In the theoretical part, some of the main problems related to urban development are analyzed in various historical periods and geographical areas, examining specific cases of cities (or parts of them) in relation to cultural and design models that have influenced their configuration.
In the practical part, the analysis is focused on individual urban realities and tends to verify the acquisition of the research method in the historical-urbanistic field, through the analysis of the problems that determine the settlement process.
Study visits and / or in-depth seminars can be organized, compatibly with the teaching needs, in collaboration with the International Center for Baroque Studies and will be an integral part of the theoretical lessons and practical exercises.
