Knowledge and Understanding

By the end of the course, students will have acquired a comprehensive understanding of the main aspects governing the management of agrifood businesses. This includes solid knowledge of core business functions such as organizational structure, production management, and human resource management. The course will also explore emerging business models, with particular emphasis on the circular economy and sustainable business practices. Students will become familiar with the principles of financial management and logistics operations, including procurement management dynamics. In addition, the course will address sales forecasting techniques, inventory management strategies, and innovation in production processes. These topics will provide students with a strong theoretical and practical foundation for understanding and analyzing the operational and strategic dynamics of agrifood enterprises

 Applying Knowledge and Understanding

At the end of the course, students will be able to apply the knowledge acquired to real-world business contexts, demonstrating practical skills in addressing managerial challenges. They will be capable of analyzing and solving problems related to production and logistics, identifying effective solutions to optimize business processes. Students will also be able to implement innovative and sustainable business models, with particular attention to resource efficiency and environmental impact. Furthermore, they will acquire the skills necessary to evaluate business performance through the use of sales forecasting tools and inventory management techniques. Finally, students will be prepared to manage human resources and innovation processes in complex organizational environments by applying the knowledge gained in an informed and autonomous manner.

Making Judgements

The course is designed to foster students’ ability to make independent and informed decisions in dynamic business environments. This competence will be developed through the analysis of real case studies, allowing students to engage with concrete business problems and simulate situations commonly encountered in professional settings. Classroom discussions will encourage critical thinking, the exchange of ideas, and the development of alternative solutions. Practical activities carried out both in class and within companies, together with seminars, will further strengthen students’ ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real situations. Oral presentations will provide opportunities for students to justify and defend their strategic choices, thereby enhancing critical and independent thinking skills.

 Communication Skills

A key objective of the course is the enhancement of students’ communication skills. By the end of the course, students will be able to clearly and effectively present concepts related to business management. Particular emphasis will be placed on the ability to communicate business strategies and operational solutions in a structured and logical manner. Classroom activities, presentations, and group work will contribute to the development of these essential skills, preparing students to interact professionally within organizational contexts.

 Learning Skills

The course also aims to develop students’ ability to learn independently and continuously. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to autonomously deepen the topics covered by consulting updated sources such as scientific articles, monographs, and industry research. They will also be prepared to adapt quickly to innovation and change within the agrifood sector, applying the skills acquired to improve business processes in professional environments. This will enable students not only to enter the labor market successfully, but also to pursue advanced training programs or specialized studies in the field of business management.

Modalità di svolgimento dell'insegnamento

L'insegnamento prevede lezioni frontali ed esercitazioni pratiche, sia in aula che in azienda. Le esercitazioni avranno l’obiettivo di applicare i concetti teorici a casi concreti, stimolando la partecipazione attiva degli studenti.

The final exam consists of an oral exam, during which the student’s learning will be assessed. The evaluation will be based on the following criteria:
