Il corso vuole consentire agli studenti di padroneggiare i diversi approcci alla questione di cosa fonda da un punto di vistafilosofico i diritti umani. Il corso si propone altresì di formare gli studenti in relazione ad alcuni temi specifici particolarmentecruciali per la politica contemporaea quali la responsbilità di proteggere, la legittimità culturale dei diritti umani in contenti nonoccidentali, i diritti umani e i conflitti armati.
Modalità di svolgimento dell'insegnamento
Il corso presuppone la partecipazione attiva da parte degli studenti a cui viene chiesto di presentare in classe il materiale previstoper una lezione. Le lezioni sono quindi svolte in forma seminariale ed è essenziale che si arrivi in classe avendo letto in anticipo ilmateriale previsto per quel giorno

Contenuti del corso
Questo corso esamina in modo critico i dibattiti contemporanei sui diritti umani, affrontando questioni fondamentali, critiche teoriche e sfide emergenti. I temi trattati includono il diritto ad avere diritti, l'intervento umanitario, la migrazione, la salute, il femminismo, la democrazia, la giustizia socioeconomica, il cambiamento climatico e i diritti degli animali. Le discussioni coinvolgono prospettive filosofiche e politiche, integrando punti di vista diversi. Il corso si conclude con una rivalutazione critica dell'universalità, dell'intersezionalità e dell'uso del linguaggio dei diritti umani da parte dell'estrema destra.
