Learning Objectives

The course aims to transmit a clinical knowledge through lectures on contents reported in the table "Didactic Program" (See course program ").

The program is carried out with the support of expert tutors in specific areas of the Obstetric-Gynecological Clinic

This program is implemented through meetings whose calendar is formulated by the Presidency of the Course of Medicine and Surgery, and which can be consulted on the School of Medicine website.


Course Structure

The course includes lectures and participation, with discussion of clinical cases. The lessons are based on the use of simple and highly comprehensible teaching support, which results from a PowerPoint set-up



Detailed Course Content

Educational program:

Female genital apparatus anatomy, hypothalamus hypophysis ovary axis, menstrual cycle.

The physiological pregnancy: the fetal appendages, the placenta. Duration of pregnancy: preterm, term, post-term pregnancy

Prenatal diagnosis: first trimester screening, invasive techniques: amniocentesis, villocentesis.

Delivery: mechanical, dynamic, plastic phenomena. Presentation indexes. The distal and twin birth. The operative birth.

Secondary, postpartum and puerperium: physiology and pathology (manual secondary, uterine atony, CID)

Spontaneous and recurrent miscarriage. Thrombophilia. Ectopic pregnancy. The vesicular wheel

Gestational hypertension, gestosis, eclampsia. Epatogestosi. Placental insufficiency. flowmetry

Third-trimester hemorrhages: placenta previa and untimely detachment of normally inserted placenta.

Diabetes during pregnancy

The amenorree

Infertility of torque. Laparascopia. Diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy.

Chronic pelvic pain. Endometriosis.

Ovarian polycystosis and metabolic syndrome.

Contraception

Malignant pathology of the uterine neck. HPV infection, preneoplastic lesions of the uterine port, the pap test, HPV test. Carcinoma of the uterine cervix.

Hormonal therapies of childbearing and post-menopause age. Menopause, metaphoriasis of menopause. Hyperestrogenism in menopause

The vaginitis. Vaginosis. Sexually transmitted diseases.

Pathology of the annexes, ovarian cysts. Malignant pathology of the ovary: ovarian carcinoma.

Static pelvic and pelvic floor defects. Genital prolapse and urinary incontinence.

Pathology of the vulva: sclerose lichen, squamous hyperplasia, VIN, vulva carcinoma

Benign pathology of the uterus: uterine fibromyomas, endometrial polyps, endometrial hyperplasia. Changes in the uterus.

Miscarriage. Law 194/78: Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy

Neoplastic pathology of the uterine body: endometrial carcinoma, uterine sarcoma.
