Learning Objectives

The course aims to provide a basic knowledge of the fundamental institutes of private law such as rights of personality, property, contract and civil liability with the deepening of some issues specifically related to the field of biotechnology such as the right to health and self-determination in medical care and experimentation, rights of conceived and medically assisted procreation, patentability of discoveries, marketability and protection against usurpations, civil liability, defective products and medical.

The legal system. Public Law and Private Law. Sources of law. Interpretation of the law and analogy. The rights of the personality. The rights of the conceived. The termination of pregnancy. Medically assisted procreation. Capacity and minors. The property. The "intellectual" property. Bonds and contracts. Sale of industrial patents. Civil liability. General principles. Responsibility for dangerous activities. Responsibility for faulty products. The doctor's responsibility.
