Provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge on the in-hospital management of the patient admitted in the ordinary, day hospital, day service in the Internal Medicine Unit. In particular, the following steps will be addressed: the moment of the reception, the collection of physiological and pathological anamnestic data, the description of the current symptomatology, the therapies practiced, the compilation of the medical record. The student will be trained in the detection of vital parameters (blood pressure, heart rate, respiration rate, oxygen saturation), the detection of anthropometric indices, and the recording of the electrocardiogram. Students will be given the concepts for proper veno-puncture and the initiation of intravenous therapy, the correct procedure of oxygen therapy. The student will be trained in the correct computerized procedure for the application of blood tests, diagnostic imaging, specialized advice, drugs.
The aim of the professional training course in general surgery is fundamentally represented by the teaching of general diagnostic lines with indications of therapy given at the patient's bed and assessed for each individual case.
