The course enables students to acquire the language skills necessary to be able to read and understand the contents of papers and publications on biomedical topics and communicate with patients and medical staff in the Anglophile countries.
• basic grammar of the English language, with particular attention to the most frequently used forms in the scientific literature;
• main linguistic functions;
• linguistic functions oriented to health and welfare issues, and obstetricians;
• specific vocabulary of the medical-care environment;
• deepening of diseases;
• readings and articles regarding procedures, examinations and clinical tests as well as clinical cases both from the reference texts and from handouts provided by the teacher.
