Learning Objectives

• Neuroradiology
  

  To improve knowledge of indications/limitations, controindications and risks of different radiological procedurs; to teach basic radiological features of main diseases (neurological, orbital and ophthalmological diseases); to illustrate main integrated diagnostic algorithms for the assessment of the most serious and / or most common clinical situations of the ocular system.

• Anatomy of the eye and of the visual system
  

  to provide knoledge on the anatomy of the eye, of the ocular adnexa, of the orbit, of the extraocular muscles, and of the optic pathway

  to provide knoledge on the gross anatomy and of the microscopic anatomy, also in relation with the function

  to provide knowledge on the circulation, and on the motor, sensory and autonomic innervation of the eye and of the visual system

• Neuroradiology
  
  1. Ionizing radiation; X-ray tube;
  2. Radiobiology and radioprotection; ionizing radiations properties and their interaction; stochastics and deterministic effects;
  3. Principles of MRI; absolute and relative MR controindications;
  4. Anatomy of the visual system in CT;
  5. Anatomy of the visual system in MR;
  6. Imaging for SNC and SNP diseases
  7. Orbital diseases in CT (myopathy, lesions by foreign agent, traumatic injuries, naso-lacrimal duct diseases)
  8. Pathology of the visual system (neoplastic and non neoplastic diseases)
  9. Imaging of the optical nerve
