The course aims at providing the graphic communication concepts and technical drawing, so that the student is able to represent, including through the freehand sketch and interpret, through the reading of the drawings, the individual components and assembled of machines, identifying shapes and functional features. The student will also gain an initial knowledge of standardized functional components of machines and design procedures. They will finally be shown the basic elements of computer graphics and solid modeling.
1. DRAWING FOR THE DESIGN - STANDARDS AND INSTRUMENTS FOR DRAWING
The technical drawing and its evolution. The drawing behind the industrial design. Conventional representation rules, dimensional scales. Standardization and unification. Industrial Unification. Tools for drawing.
2. PROJECTIONS
Isometric projection of a point in space, Monge's theorem. Orthogonal projections. European and American projection method. Outline of subsidiary plans. Axonometries: orthogonal and oblique. Isometric, dimetric and cavalier. Polhke's theorem.

6. CONNECTIONS
The threads, the main thread types (metric ISO, gas, Whitworth, trapezoidal, to sawtooth, Edison, etc.), the main elements of a thread. The main threaded elements, screws, bolts, studs, nuts and bolts classes. Notes on welding
7. THE TRANSMISSION AND OTHER PARTS OF THE MACHINES
Bearings. Rolling bearings, ball bearings, roller bearings, conical, in the cages. Bearing graphical representation. Criteria choice and their assembly. transmitting the rotary motion (transmission ratio, friction wheels). The toothed wheels, type and their representation.
