Detailed Course Content

Historical, cultural and linguistic aspects relating to the ancient Germanic peoples (with special regard to the influence of classical and Christian culture) and their textual production during Late Antiquity and (Early) Middle Ages. Old West Norse language and literature: introduction and reading, translation and analysis of a short passage of Snorri Sturluson's Edda
