Modalità di svolgimento dell'insegnamento
Il corso si basa su lezioni frontali e la partecipazione degli studenti ai dibattiti in aula. Al fine di facilitare l’interazione, gli studenti saranno regolarmente sollecitati a presentare osservazioni su questioni specifiche. Fonti primarie, giornali, mappe, estratti di film, foto e video saranno utilizzati durante le lezioni.
Prerequisiti richiesti
Conoscenze geografiche, storiche e giuridiche di base; nozioni introduttive sulla religione islamica.
Frequenza lezioni
La frequenza è obbligatoria.
Contenuti del corso
Il corso affronta la storia contemporanea del Medio Oriente dalla spedizione di Napoleone in Egitto (1798) alla fine del XX secolo attraverso il filtro del costituzionalismo e delle carte costituzionali.

La valutazione è basata principalmente su un esame orale finale sui temi del corso e, secondariamente, sulla partecipazione alle attività in aula.
Assessment will be chiefly based on a final oral exam on the course topics. Student’s response to class activities will be also taken into account
