The objectives of the Course are to provide the student with the molecular basis of oncological and autoimmune diseases and the knowledge on modern diagnostic techniques of the biomedical laboratory
Autoimmunity: molecular basis of autoimmunity, hypersensitivity reactions, nosographic classification of the main autoimmune diseases
Immunofluorescence: principles and applications in the diagnosis of autoimmune diseases
Transplant immunology: molecular basis and study techniques
Molecular basis of neoplasms: alteration of the mechanisms for maintaining genomic integrity; oncogenes and tumor suppressors
DNA methylation study: study of the MLH1 gene and the MGMT gene
Flow cytometry: principles and applications in the biomedical field and in the diagnostics of oncological diseases of the blood
Microarrays: principles, platforms, applications in the biomedical field
First and Next generation Sequencing: Sanger sequencing; Maxam-Gilbert sequencing; pyrosequencing; Illumina sequencing; nanopore sequencing
Applications of molecular pathology techniques to oncology: microsatellite instability, BRCA1-2 mutations, BRAFV600E mutations
