Comparative education has a relatively recent disciplinary tradition, and the purpose of which is the identification and analysis, in a comparative key, of specific problems and educational issues. In this perspective, it is configured as a research discipline that tends to identify new knowledge, of a theoretical and practical nature, through the comparison between two or more educational systems (in use in different countries, in different regions, in different historical periods, in different places of formal and informal education, etc.).
The course aims to the theoretical and methodological foundations of comparative education.
The educational objectives are as follows:
The expected learning objectives, declined according to the Dublin Descriptors, are the following:
Knowledge and understanding (DD1)
Processes Knowledge and applied understanding (DD2)
Autonomy of judgment (DD3)
Communication skills (DD4)
The laboratory has the general objective of offering the student the opportunity to experiment with the survey methodologies presented during the theoretical lessons (analysis and comparison of different education systems, case studies, etc.).
Frontal lessons. Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus.
Analysis and interpretation of texts, archive materials, iconographic and audiovisual sources.
If the teaching is given in a mixed or remote mode, the necessary changes with respect to what was previously stated may be introduced, in order to comply with the program envisaged and reported in the syllabus.
Critical knowledge of the correspondence between political mandate, pedagogical theories and educational practices, for a comparison of the educational and educational systems.
