Learning Objectives

• Technical Architecture I - A-L
  

  Knowledge of basic and preformed materials for the construction of buildings and civil engineering works.

  Knowledge of usual construction techniques for the construction of civil engineering works.

  Core elements of traditional construction techniques.

  Detail design through the use of traditional and innovative materials.

• Technical Architecture I - A-L
  

  Knowledge of recurrent engineering techniques for the construction of civil engineering works.

  Design of detail through the use of traditional and innovative materials.

  Focus on the techniques of graphic representation of architectural projects.

Course Structure

• Technical Architecture I - A-L
  

  The course will be held with frontal classes.

  In case of mixed mode or online classes, mode variations will be introduced accordinly, in order to fulfill the syllabus.

  Lectures and exercises.

  Weekly review of exercise projects.

  Didactic seminars.

Detailed Course Content

• Technical Architecture I - A-L
  

  1. General overview.

  2. Building materials: wood, stone materials, ceramic materials, concrete, steel, aluminum, glass, floorings, thermal insulators, etc.

  3. The composition of the construction equipment.

  3.1.External vertical closures.

  3.2.Horizontal closures.

  3.3.The internal vertical partitions.

  3.4. Vertical communication elements.

  EXERCISES: students in working groups, consisting of a maximum of 4 components, will be assigned the elaboration of an architectural project of residential building on a lot.

  REQUIRED REQUIREMENTS: project plan (scale 1: 500), plants at various levels (scale 1: 100), prospects and sections (scale 1: 100), foundation plan (scale 1: 100), carpentry (scale 1: 100), horizontal and vertical construction sections (scale 1:10), details (scale 1: 5), etc.

  COLLATERAL ACTIVITIES: Various seminars and educational visits are provided within the course.

• Technical Architecture I - A-L
  

  EXERCISES: students in working groups, consisting of a maximum of 2 components, will be assigned the elaboration of an architectural project of residential building on a lot.
