GEOLOGICAL CARTOGRAPHY WITH LABORATORY

GEO/03 - 6 CFU - 2° Semester

Teaching Staff

SERAFINA CARBONE

Learning Objectives

The objective of the course is that students acquire the ability to perform autonomously geological profiles at various scales, to know how to read and interpret the stratigraphic and tectonic elements represented in a geological map in order to correctly evaluate the spatio-temporal evolution of the various sectors that make up the Appenninic-Maghrebian Orogen.

Course Structure

The course consists of six credits of laboratory lessons (6 cfu L). The didactic material consists of Geological Maps of various scale. The lessons, preliminary to the drafting of the geological profile, are carried out with slides and Power Point. The geological maps are made available by the didactic structure or by the teacher. Several geological maps, as long as available, will be honored to the students attending the course. The topics of the lessons are available in pdf and must be requested in the library. Any additions and / or updates to the program are made by the teacher during the course.
