The course aims at developing the student’s knowledge about the benefits of physical activity in elderly subjects and the regular practice of it, observing the effects on the prevention of arteriosclerosis, cardiovascular diseases, and on some types of cancer as well as the effects on the monitoring of osteoporosis, diabetes and on the prevention of degenerative diseases, in order to show how physical activity is able to slow the effects of ageing.
Frontal lessons.
Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus.
Learning assessment may also be carried out on line, should the conditions require it.
Psychosocial and biological aspects of ageing
Exercises to improve and re-educate breathing, to improve balance, to refine coordination, to control posture and to increase strength.
