The aim is to provide the knowledge of the musculoskeletal diseases of orthopedic and traumatology. The course provides knowledge regarding orthopedic and traumatological diseases of childhood, adulthood and elderly. The course provides to take up the future physician regarding the diagnostic approach and the correct choice of treatment, either conservative or surgical, of congenital, pediatric and degenerative orthopaedic disorders, and regarding the management of minor and major trauma, vehicle, accidental and sportive.
The Physical and Rehabilitative Medicine module aims to identify the main neurological, orthopedic and cardiopulmonary pathologies in order to evaluate their recovery programs. The course also aims to deepen the knowledge on the principles of kinesiology of the spine, hip, knee and shoulder and the main pathologies of these joint districts, to know the various types of muscle injuries and overload pathologies in the sportic (enthesitis, tendinitis).
Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus
Knowledge of basic techniques in Plastic Surgery, treatment of the main tumors, malformation and traumatic diseases and related reconstructive procedures.

The course is based on the main orthopaedic and traumatologic disorders, highlighting: epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, clinical features, imaging investigations, differential diagnosis, prognosis, complications, conservative and surgivcal treatment.
Scoliosis, dysmorphisms, paramorphisms and rehabilitation aspects; degenerative and traumatic pathologies affecting the vertebral spine and principles of rehabilitation; pathologies affecting the CNS and principles of rehabilitation; pathologies of the PNS and principles of rehabilitation; instrumental physical therapy; degenerative and traumatic pathologies of the musculoskeletal system and principles of rehabilitation treatment; functional evaluation scales (Barthel scale and FIM scale); use of electromyography in rehabilitation; spasticity and assessment scales (Ashworth and Tardieu), guided self-rehabilitation in spastic paresis; biomechanics of the hip, knee and shoulder; movement disorders (generalized and focal dystonia), bed rest syndrome, rehabilitation / long-term care / RSA.
Basic Techniques in Plastic Surgery; treatment and diagnosis of skin neoplastic lesions; treatment of traumatic hand injury; malformative syndromes of the cephalic, genital, breast and limb district; breast reconstruction; canalicular pathologies of the upper limb; treatment and physiopathology of the burned patient; knowledge and treatment of chronic skin lesions of the lower limbs and pressure lesions; microsurgery.
