The student will attend the Endocrinology, Metabolic Diseases and Nutrition ward and outpatient clinics to acquire specialist skills, learning the peculiarities of the visit and the diagnostic and therapeutic approach referred to the patient with endocrinological, metabolic, and nutrition problems.
Attendance of the ward and outpatient clinics of Endocrinology, Metabolic Diseases, and Nutrition alongside the medical staff.
The trainee will have to acquire the following knowledge and skills:
Knowing how to carry out the patient's medical history with particular reference to endocrinological, metabolic, and nutrition problems;
Know the main signs and symptoms of endocrinological, metabolic, and nutrition pathologies;
Knowing how to formulate adequate diagnostic hypotheses and know the clinical-instrumental tests to be carried out for the evaluation of the functionality of the main endocrine glands;
Know the main therapeutic guidelines in reference to endocrinological, metabolic, and nutritional pathologies and the peculiarities of the patient;
Know how to manage a patient with multiple endocrine diseases;
Know the problems related to overweight and obesity, the principles of dietetics, and clinical nutrition.
