To develop a strongly integrated approach to the patient, critically evaluating not only all clinical aspects, but also dedicating particular attention to the relational, educational, social and ethical aspects involved in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease, as well as in rehabilitation and recovery of the highest degree of psychophysical well-being possible.
The student will attend the Hematology wards and clinics to acquire the first specialist skills, including the recognition of haematological emergencies and the management of complications inherent in the infusion of immunochemotherapy used in the treatment of haematological neoplasms.
The student will attend the wards and outpatient departments of General Surgery to deepen their skills in the surgical field.

The internship has the purpose to elaborate on relationships between basic sciences and clinical sciences, in the complexity of the healthy or sick person, having particular regard to the interdisciplinary of medicine.
The trainee will have to acquire the following knowledge and skills:
- clinical examination aimed at the haematological patient, with particular reference to the differential diagnosis of lymphadenopathy and splenomegaly
- use first and second level laboratory tests for the correct classification of oncohematological diseases
The trainee will have to acquire the following knowledge and skills:
Be able to discuss clinical cases with medical personnel
Know the main surgical and endoscopic procedures
Know how to dress and know the principles of suture placement and removal
Assist in outpatient activities and outpatient and operating room surgeries
- Ward rounds and discussion of differential diagnosis.
