NURSING AREA MEDICA - channel 4

To provide students with a basic knowledge on:
- Hospital organisation
- Hygiene rules
- Patient management, with particular reference to nursing practice

Wards attendance tutored by nursing staff

Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus.

The trainee should acquire the following knowledge and skills:

• how to perform intramuscular, intradermal and subcutaneous injections, venous blood sampling
• how to carry out and manage: peripheral and central venous catheters, bladder catheterization, administration of oxygen therapy, execution of evacuative or medicated enemas, management of nasogastric tubes
• how to transport biological material
• correct positioning of the patient
• how to perform the correct partial and total cleaning of the patient
• how to recognize patients at risk of immobilization syndrome and preventive, curative and rehabilitative measures for the management of pressure sores
