Learning Objectives

The main objectives of the course will be aimed at the knowledge of the basic mechanisms of the immune responses of the organism and the alterations of the immune system, in particular: hypersensitivity reactions, immunodeficiencies and autoimmune diseases


Course Structure

Frontal lesson

Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus



Detailed Course Content

General characteristics of immune responses.

Innate immunity.

Cells and tissues of the adaptive immune system.
Antigen processing and presentation to T lymphocytes
Receptors for antigen and accessory molecules of T lymphocytes
Maturation, activation and regulation of lymphocytes.
Tolerance immunology.
Effector mechanisms of immune responses.
Immunopathology: hypersensitivity and autoimmunity.
Congenital and acquired immunodeficiencies.
