Learning Objectives

The course aims to provide a complete and updated reconstruction of the cultural heritage, with specific reference to the activities of public bodies concerning the protection of cultural heritage and the landscape, as well as the methods of their enhancement. During the course, various forms of cultural heritage management will also be analyzed, with specific attention to the relevance of private involvement in these fields. The course also aims to offer a modern vision of the law of cultural heritage, proposing a reading apt to reconcile protection and valorization, thus highlighting the most useful legal solutions to consider cultural heritage as an instrument for economic development. Besides, attention will be paid to the use of the most advanced technological tools in the management of cultural heritage, therefore with a specific focus on the development of innovation and its legal consequences.


Course Structure

The course will be carried with a teaching method apt to allow the acquisition of all the basic notions indicated among the objectives of the course. During the lectures, cases and materials previously provided will also be discussed, and all the students participating will be invited to analyze and discuss them critically.

The legal dimension of cultural heritage - Protection, management, enhancement, and circulation of cultural heritage goods - The legal organization of bodies responsible for the care of cultural heritage - The cultural heritage global regulation - The legal protection of the landscape.
