Learning Objectives

The course provides an overview of the history of music from its origins to the contemporary age, focusing on listening to musical works.

At the end of the course, the student acquires the tools to understand the historical dynamics and some fundamental works of the period and learn to identify, through guided listening, the formal aspects of them.

Lectures and lessons as listening workshop.



Detailed Course Content

The course consists of two different modules: the first (A 1 CFU) introduces the student to the Epistemological assumptions of Music History; the second (B 5 CFU) explains A preliminary survey on the music from origins to the contemporary age.
