Learning Objectives

The course aims to give an appropriate knowledge on the history of modern and contemporary music and to set the events of classical music in the European history of arts and culture.


Course Structure

The first part of the course will be devoted to the beginning of Musical Modernity between the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries. The second part of the course will be devoted to the role of the Classical Music in the Kubrick’s Film Works.



Detailed Course Content

The first part of the course will be devoted to the analysis of Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Beethoven’s Third and Ninth Symphonies. The second part of course will be devoted to the analysis of 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange and Eyes Wide Shut.
