Learning Objectives

The course aims to provide students with receptive and productive language skills in order to achieve the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages C1 level. The course is designed for students to develop a specific linguistic, cultural and symbolic competence with particular reference to stylistic and textual analysis and translation of literary texts belonging to trans-cultural literature.

Detailed Course Content

The course will focus on the acquisition of specific skills to carry out linguistic and stylistic analysis of literary texts and the translation of them. Students will learn practical methods, based on the principles of comparative methodology, to analyse transcultural literature texts. These texts are particularly useful to identify stylistic choices and develop appropriate translation strategies in order to achieve a stylistic/textual, symbolic and intercultural competence.
