Learning Objectives

This course concerns the basic principles and policies used in energy management. Students will learn the importance of monitoring and controlling energy and resource consumption in industrial settings and how develop and implement energy management programs and conduct energy audits. The course deals with the efficient operation of industrial technologies and facilities’ climate control. The course covers economic evaluation of energy conservation opportunities using engineering economic analysis. The course surveys the current state of energy policy with an emphasis on ISO 50001 design and certification.


Course Structure

Lectures will be given in classroom or, if conditions would require it, they will be available on-line or in mixed modality.

Students must attend at least 70% of the course lectures. It is mandatory the subscription to the course on the webpage on studium.unict.it.

Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus.

Learning assessment may also be carried out on line, should the conditions require it.
