Learning Objectives

The student is expected to be able to master the basic elements of Chinese language: syntax, writing, reading and comprehension of texts; he is also expected to be able to read and write approximately 900 characters and read some text in traditional characters. The student is expected to achieve roughly the 3rd level of proficiency of the HSK, Chinese Language Proficiency Test (汉语水平考试).


Course Structure

Face-to-face lectures and in-course tests.

Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus.



Detailed Course Content

Students will be introduced to the reading of a literary text, of newspaper articles, and of spoken language. The content of the lessons will be supplemented with the literary and didactic material provided by the professor, as well as simple texts and exercises to be performed individually, which will have the purpose of consolidating student's translating, reading, oral and written comprehension.
