ESTETICA

The course analyses authors and themes of the history of aesthetics from the ancient times till today. The goal is to provide to students the knowledge related to the modern and contemporary historical-artistic debate, aiming to understand and deepen the key features of the discipline.

The main historical stages of the aesthetics: from Antiquity to the Renaissance, from the Baroque to the eighteenth century, Idealism, Romanticism, Marxism, Neo-Idealism, Positivism, Evolutionism, Psychological Aesthetics, Linguistic, Semiotics, human Sciences, Vitalism, Pragmatism, analytical Aesthetics, Phenomenology, Existentialism, Hermeneutics, Deconstructionism

B) Monographic part (4 CFU)

- Ernst Cassirer: three seminars on art as a symbolic form (language and art and the educational value of art).

- Guy Debord: The society of entertainment understood as a social relationship between men mediated by images
