Learning Objectives

The importance of data in social life and sociological research, digital media and their historical context, the web as a space for social interaction, criticisms of social connectivity in digital platforms.


Course Structure

The course takes place essentially in the form of the frontal lesson, with extensive use of tools for student involvement: questions for the verification of concepts, collective discussion of crucial cases, digital tools for involvement and participation.



Detailed Course Content

Big data and social sciences, computational social science, digital platforms and social research, history of digital media, the social effects of the web.
