Learning Objectives

The final goal will be a knowledge of the Inorganic Compounds with a particular emphasis on their electronic and crystallographic structures. In particular:

1. Knowledge and understanding the theories of the atomic and molecular structure, the structure and reactivity of coordination compounds and the main characteristics of the elements and their compounds.

2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding how to use the chemical laws and learned concepts in order to solve theoretical and practical problems in a logical and deductive way. Knowing how to carry out the synthesis of complexes, and opportunely draw up an experimental notebook and a consequent elaboration that results consistent in the final results, to be made explicit by writing a scientific report.

3. Judgment skills in evaluating the structure and reactivity of inorganic compounds in general and of coordination compounds in particular.

4. Communication skills in communicating the knowledge learned and the results of their application using appropriate terminology, both in oral and written fields. Knowing how to interact with the teacher and students in a respectful and constructive way, especially during the experimental work carried out in groups.

5. Learning skills in taking notes, selecting and collecting information according to their importance and priority. Moreover to be sufficiently autonomous in the collection of experimental data
