Learning Objectives

Knowledge and understanding
The course aims to provide students with the knowledge and understanding of the phase which follows the process of cognition in two dimensions execution formal and substantive. The principles and rules are analyzed in a broader context of research, urging the ability to integrate with the knowledge related to other areas of the criminal justice system.
Applying knowledge and understanding
Students are familiar with institutions whose employment takes extremely important in the context of criminal law and professionalism of the sector in the punitive state intervention, which is the confluence of a series of principles and individual guarantees.


Course Structure

Lectures, seminars, visits to penitentiary establishments.

If the teaching is given in a mixed or remote mode, the necessary changes may be introduced with respect to what was previously stated, in order to respect the program envisaged and reported in the syllabus.



Detailed Course Content

Constitutional principles and prison regulations - the judiciary of monitoring - the treatment of prisoners - prisoners' rights - security and prison discipline - the alternative measures to detention - the process of monitoring - the process for complaint - the public prosecutor and the execution of the prison sentence - the judge and the enforcement proceedings
