The course will be articulated through lectures with the support of texts and images. After analysing the theoretical status of aesthetics, the problem of the ornament will be discussed with reference to literature and visual arts.
The principles of Western aesthetics. In particular, the course will focus on the aesthetic issue of the ornament, from Plato to contemporary aesthetics.
