PHILOLOGY OF ITALIAN LITERATURE

Knowledge of stylistic and material features of the 14^th century Italian poetry and of its manuscript tradition, particularly in relation to Petrarch’s works.

Knowledge of the textual problems of the 16^th century Italian poetry.

Knowledge of the basic elements of literary lexicography and of the main problems involved in the creation of concordances and data bases related to the 19^th and 20^th century Italian poetry.

The problems and the texts included in this course are strictly connected with the methods and the problems of Romance Philology.

A Tradition and interpretation of Petrarch’s Canzoniere: analysis of Rvf’s 71, 72, 73 (2 CFU).

B Textual problems and interpretation of the 16^th century Italian poetry: the poems of Veronica Gambara (2 CFU).

C Literary lexicography, concordances and data bases. Some applications to 20^th century Italian poetry (1 CFU).
