The course is aimed at explaining the main themes of psychopathology, through an in-depth analysis of theoretical models and specific evaluation and operational methods . We will analyze, in particular, the theories about the understanding of psychological disorder, and present the main models of prevention and intervention concerning the psychopathologies. As far as disorders are concerned, we will outline the biological, environmental and relational aspects from an evolutionary and biopsychosocial perspective.The course is intended to provide students with specific knowledge on individual contextual and cultural aspects of psychopathology in children, as well as illustrate the risk and protection factors related to the typical and atypical evolutionary paths.
The aim of the course is to provide knowledge about low vision and blindness, on the diseases leading to low vision, on rehabilitation and optical and electronical aids for low vision.

At the end of the course the students will be able to:
- Understand the functioning patterns of mind and psychological discomfort.
- apply acquired knowledge related to psychological discomfort in the contexts of the person's life (family, school, educational contexts).
- to integrate the knowledge gained in reasoning on conditions of psychopathological interest.
- communicate knowledge, conceptual reference models and information related to mental functioning
- deepen the processes related to psychological discomfort through theoretical and empirical contributions
