Learning Objectives

It is required a deep knowledge of the mainstream authors of Latin American Literature from its origins to the present day, paying attention to the authors of the “Boom de la literatura hispanoamericana”; the course also aims at consolidating interpretative and critical skills in studying the literary texts of the period taken into consideration, through the narratological analysis of temporality, narrative metalepsis and narrator’s voice.

The course goes into depth with the authors of the Hispanic American “Boom” and with their literary formal features, through a selection of anthological passages and critical essays; it provides an analysis of the use of the narrator’s voice, narrative metalepsis and temporality
