A)
For the history of Italian Literature from the first 18th to the end of the 19th century, we recommend (both for Modulo A and Modulo B): A. Casadei-M. Santagata, Manuale di letteratura italiana medievale e moderna, Laterza or A. Battistini (a cura di), Letteratura italiana. II. Dal Settecento ai giorni nostri, Il Mulino, or another History of Italian Literature chosen by the student and approved by the teacher.
Vittorio Alfieri, Saul (edition chosen by the student) and Enrico Ghidetti, Saul, in «La Rassegna della Letteratura italiana», 2 (2003), pp. 637-655.
Ugo Foscolo, Dei Sepolcri (edition chosen by the student) and N. Mineo, Foscolo, Bonanno, cap. IV.
It is also required to study particularly the following writers, with an appropriate selection of literary text: Giambattista Vico, Pietro Metastasio, Carlo Goldoni, Giuseppe Parini, Vittorio Alfieri, Ugo Foscolo.
