Learning Objectives

• Diseases of the Eye and Visual System
  

  to provide knowledges on the pathophysiology, symptoms and signs of the diseases of the eye and of the visual system in children and adults

  to give expertise in clinical diagnosis, functional and instrumental semeiotics, medical and surgical therapy.

• Ophthalmological semeiotics
  

  provide basic knowledge about ophthalmological semeiotics.

• Orthoptics II
  

  Acquire knowledge of the clinical and pathophysiological medical case of oculomotor imbalances, with the ability to make differential diagnoses between limited type deviations and types of innervational type. To understand the medical case of maxillofacial pathologies relevant to the oculomotor system. Acquire the skills to understand the physiopathological bases and the therapeutic principles of restrictive and paralytic strabismus. Acquire knowledge for the diagnosis and medical treatment of accommodative innervational strabismus.

  STRABOLOGY: concomitant and paralytic strabismus
  
  PATHOLOGY OF ORBIT AND ANNEXES: Exophthalmos - Blepharitis - Conjunctivitis - DacriocistitiS.
  
  CORNEAL PATHOLOGY: Keratites - Keratoconus.
  
  PATHOLOGIES OF THE LENS
  
  PRIMARY AND SECONDARY GLAUCOMA: Pathophysiology of hydrodynamics of aqueous humor, diagnostics and therapy of glaucoma.
  
  UVEAL PATHOLOGIES: Uveitis
  
  RETINAL DISEASES: Macular degeneration - Vascular pathology - Retinal detachment - Diabetic retinopathy - Hypertensive retinopathy - Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) - other types of retinopathy.
