The student will have to learn the main pathologies of the digestive tract, the liver, the bile ducts and the pancreas.
- The learning of the digestive tract, liver, bile ducts and pancreas pathologies should include:
- knowledge of the basic elements of pathophysiology, etiology, pathogenesis, symptomatology and, above all, imaging diagnostics;
- reasoned knowledge of rationality, economy and risk factors of the various diagnostic options practicable for each single digestive disease.
The mode of teaching of Gastroenterology involves, mainly, the conduct of a lecture of about 2 hours/ each with slides projection in power-point format, verbal commentary of the projected images, in-depth analysis of the subject underway, if requested by the student or if deemed necessary by the instructor in charge.
The Gastroenterology Course will provide the student with an up-to-date, analytical and rational synthesis of the major digestive, liver, biliary and pancreas diseases related to their etiology, pathogenesis, symptomatology, diagnosis and simple elements of drug therapy. The course also aims to initiate a process of critical maturation of the knowledge of diagnostic options applicable in gastrointestinal diseases. Theoretical knowledge should also be supported by the vision of explanatory iconographic material, typically slides, on Diagnostic Algorithms, Rx images, CT, MR, US and Diagnostic Examinations with Digestive Endoscopy.
